Public Art Advisory

Risk Reviews
Lee-Ann Joy at inDesign

In addition to its design services, inDesign provides independent public art risk reviews for organisations commissioning public art or large-scale installations where ownership, operational, or reputational exposure is significant.

This advisory role is undertaken separately from architectural services and is focused on identifying legal, operational, safety, maintenance, and reputational risks that may arise after delivery, particularly where long-term custodianship, future accountability, and ongoing liability are unclear.

The public art advisory work is advisory in nature, limited in scope, and does not include project delivery, design authorship, certification, or contract administration. It does not constitute design advice or statutory assessment.

Clients may choose to rely on the review as one input among others when making decisions. Accountability for outcomes remains with the commissioning parties and their appointed consultants.

The service is typically engaged by developers, asset owners, and operators prior to completion, handover, or public opening, where governance arrangements and future obligations are transitioning.

The advisory service is not provided on projects where inDesign has had a creative or delivery role.
